Plane carrying Malawi's vice president reported missing

 A tactical airplane conveying Malawi's VP Saulos Chilima has been accounted for missing after it neglected to make an arrival Monday morning, the public authority said.

"All endeavors by flight specialists to connect with the airplane since it went off the radar have bombed up to this point," the public authority said in an explanation.

The plane, which took off soon after 9:00am nearby time (0700 GMT), was conveying 51-year-old Chilima and nine others.

President Lazarus Chakwera has requested provincial and public powers to direct an "quick pursuit and salvage activity to find the whereabouts of the airplane", the assertion said.

Chakwera, who was because of movement to the Bahamas for a functioning visit, has since dropped his excursion.

In 2022, Chilima was deprived of his powers when he was captured and accused of unite over a pay off embarrassment including an English Malawian finance manager.

Last month, a Malawian court dropped the charges after Chilima went to a few court appearances.
