Mayor appreciates municipal staff for ‘tireless work’

 Excusing reports of the shortfall of civil staff when the residents experienced because of storm on Saturday night, Karachi City hall leader Murtaza Wahab valued the whole group of the Karachi Metropolitan Partnership (KMC), Karachi Water and Sewerage Company (KWSC) and Sindh Strong Waste Administration Board (SSWMB).


In a post on X, the city hall leader praised the KMC, KWSC and SSWMB "for their vigorous endeavors throughout recent hours." He added: "If it's not too much trouble, keep up the difficult work and don't be impeded by downers."

He said all significant avenues had been gotten free from water. Stale water had been taken out from roads of Lyari and factors causing aggregation of water on II Chundrigar Street had been tended to, he added

Break in channel

In the midst of weighty precipitation and power breakdown at the Center Siphoning Station, a break arose on Sunday in the Center Trench that provisions water to Karachi.

As indicated by the KWSC representative, the water supply from the Center point Channel to the city had been briefly suspended because of the break and KWSC CEO President Architect Sallahuddin Ahmed has given orders for fix of the trench on a crisis premise.

The representative said the maintenance work would be finished in the following 72 hours. Because of the break, water supply from the Center point Channel would be briefly suspended in West and Keamari areas where water would be provided from the elective line of K-III. The KWSC has spoke to the residents to painstakingly store water and use it.

KE's assertion

In the mean time, the K-Electric (KE) said power supply to the Karachi and abutting regions had been standardized following Saturday's startling weighty showers. It added that its field groups were dynamic in tending to restricted issues.

The power utility expressed that according to crisis wellbeing conventions, power supply to low-lying regions or those with a high pervasiveness of kundas was briefly suspended and they were progressively empowered once weather patterns became typical.
